Americolor Tower

The Americolor Tower is a modular, shaftless-driven, 50" wide 4-high tower for addition to existing double-width newspaper presses. The tower design lends to economic and versatile color expansion, while utilizing and extending the operational lifetime of existing press equipment. The Americolor Tower is manufactured in the USA by Manugraph Dauphin Graphic Machines and marketed world-wide by Inland Newspaper Machinery Corporation.

At 45-tons, the single-footprint Americolor Tower usually utilizes existing substructure without costly foundation or reel room floor modification. Tower positions can be created by repositioning  units within the existing configuration, which can often be stacked elsewhere in the press line, even further expanding color capacity. Likewise, positions can be created using additional new or reconditioned reels to boost web and page capacities, while towers installed on additional Y or box-columns can often utilize dormant or otherwise unused reels for an economic color or page-capacity expansion.

The Americolor Tower's relatively overall height, as a result of the tower's in-line cylinder geometry, allows installation in low ceiling height situations, while the modular unit design requires minimum additional clearance for lifting and rigging of tower components over the existing press configuration.

Compatible plate lock-ups and complete electrical system integration make Americolor Tower installations seamless with existing press configurations. The modular tower construction minimizes production interference during installation.

Console controlled inking, register, and dampening systems simplify tower operation while reducing start-up and running waste. Easily adapted options such as closed-loop color and register controls, ink pre-setting using CIP³ data, and job data storage further add to the Americolor Tower's efficiency.
